Is it hard to find fenced-in homes for rent in STT? - USVI Moving Center

Because of the very hilly terrain and thick foilage it is not too common to have a property that is able to be fenced without great effort and high expense. That said, there are some homes that may have smaller fenced in areas that might be suitable for a dog to get exercise - truthfully dogs run free in many neighborhoods, not an uncommon practice and frowned upon by many of the neighboring residents with or without dogs of their own.
Finding a fenced yard that even allows dogs, if it is not a rental single family home may be problamatic as well.
I am discounting the walled and gated estates that do exist, but they are rarely long term rentals and generally really expensive.
Finding a house with a rental apartment where the owners would allow you to build a dog run is worth exploring - but combining calling the ads in the Island Trader with driving around the areas you are interested in living in looking for 'Rent' signs should yield a workable result if you put your mind to it - I will suggest bringing the dog with you in the car when you look at a prospective rental and asking the property owner if they would want to meet the animal - it may sway them in your favor in some instances and if it is a dealbreaker for them at least you found out ahead of time.
